Food Trucks

Camping trips and Hollywood Bowl concerts nurtured my love of eating good food outdoors. California has beautiful weather, fresh ingredients and bold chefs.

Most people have a craving to combine all those elements at food truck events.

A few weeks ago, we discovered mobile food heaven in Palo Alto at Edgewood Eats.

We lined up at different food trucks for our entrees. Next, we claimed a patch of asphalt with our camping chairs.

Then I scarfed down this incredible Maine lobster roll from the Shack Mobile.

Dining In

I like to leave Food Network or the Cooking Channel on when I’m doing dishes or fussing around in the kitchen/living room. When I see a dish that looks tasty, I hit record on our Direct TV DVR.
Skirt Steak and Garlic White Bean Mash
That’s how I came up with up with this for dinner: rib-eye steak, garlic white bean mash and sauteed spinach. Nigella Lawson made it look so fast and easy.

Decadent Dishes

It’s a blessing to live and work near my Bay Area friends. I prefer sharing a good meal with my girlfriends over chatting between racks of clothes and makeup counters. The best part – we always have an appetite for good food, diet be damned.
Pork Belly Donuts
Last week, I did an early happy hour/late lunch with Susan in the Mission. We sampled pork belly donuts at the Sycamore. They serve the donuts with Maker’s Mark maple sryup. The flavor combo works for me.
