My hubby and I celebrated our 6th anniversary at Papillon in Fremont last weekend. Our wedding date falls just a day after our first date ever. We ran around San Francisco, hunting for bizarre items in a thrift store scavenger hunt 11 years ago. We ended the night at Ghirardelli Square, holding hands and walking by the beach.
I’m happy that we found a sweet, romantic spot in Fremont to celebrate our relationship.
I ordered the tomato puree soup and our server left an adorable message inside the bowl. Our server was so friendly and attentive. It felt like he wanted to make sure this night was special for us.
After we finished pulling out the tender meat from the escargots shells, I made sure we had extra French bread to sop up the garlic butter sauce.
We also shared a plate of duck pate.
One of the specials for the evening was the sole dover served with a creamy butter sauce. It was a classic, savory presentation for the fresh fish and I thought it was quite tasty.
My hubby ordered the beef wellington, medium rare. It came out well done. It was yummy, but please don’t promise “medium rare” on meat dishes if you can’t execute it.
We ended the meal with port, orange muscat and a Grand Mariner soufflé. It was a lovely ending to our anniversary dinner.
